Product Overview


The GUL mining explosion-proof and intrinsically safe radar level sensor (hereinafter referred to as the instrument) consists of a sensor and a converter. It detects liquid level or solid material level based on the principle of electromagnetic wave reflection.

The instrument adopts a non-contact measurement method, making it suitable for level measurement under various complex working conditions. It is equipped with a high-precision measurement, conversion, display, and control circuit. The high-brightness OLED display shows real-time level values (with multiple selectable units). It features an interactive interface with four operation buttons for simple and intuitive operation. Parameters can be set via the front panel, and all settings are automatically saved.

The upper converter section adopts a flameproof structure with a stainless-steel enclosure. It contains flameproof and intrinsically safe conversion circuits, providing intrinsically safe power supply and signal acquisition for the radar level sensor unit.

Explosion-proof Structural Features

The enclosure is made of stainless steel with a flameproof design. The cable entry device complies with GB/T 3836.1 Ex cable entry requirements. A mining cable with an outer diameter of (8–12) mm must be used. The outgoing cable is reliably soldered to the PCB, then sealed and compressed via sealing ring and cable gland. The radar sensor is connected to the flameproof housing via a flameproof through-wall terminal.

Installation Position

• When installed above the maximum liquid level by 10 cm, ensure the radar antenna face is parallel to the liquid surface.

• When installed on a tank, the distance from the tank wall should be greater than 0.5 m, and central installation is recommended.

Installation Method

DN80 flange mounting (standard); other flange or threaded connections available upon request before ordering.
